Entire and Exact Location
Feb 25, Feb 27
Tuesday Topic
We'll continue our evaluation of systems trying to capture multilocation and spanning in terms of non-primitive whole or weak location. Then we'll examine and evaluate a new system that attempts to capture multilocation via primitive entire location. Finally, we'll look at (and critique) systems that invoke primitive exact location.
This Week's Readings
Normally on Tuesdays I have you read a paper I've selected, and then on Thursdays you read (and do a reading response for) a paper of your own choosing. But I've decided to spend an extra week covering logics of location, and I've already given you relevant readings for that. (If you want to read a paper we'll be discussing, read Fabrice Correia's "A General Theory of Location Based on the Notion of Entire Location", linked to in last week's page. But that's optional.)
This week, you'll have no papers due to read by Tuesday, but two papers of your own selection and reading response sheets due on Thursday. If you're giving a presentation this week, you can select whichever paper you prefer (you don't need to present both of them!).
