Metaphysical Mayhem:

How to Apply

This year, Metaphysical Mayhem will be a 5 day long summer school for graduate students.  There will be two sessions each day, covering topics in the Philosophy of Time.  The conference will meet from June 3rd through June 7th.  Because we'd like the sessions to have a seminar feel, we are not making attendance open to everyone.  However, any graduate student is welcome to apply.

To apply, please send us the following:

- 1 paper on any topic in Metaphysics, around 3,000 words

- 2 letters of recommendation (preferably from members of your programme)

- An unofficial transcript

- A brief (300-500 word) statement of your interest in the Philosophy of Time

- A cover letter, with your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and institutional affiliation.

    Please send those items to:

The deadline for postmarks on the applications is April 10th, and we will give answers by the end of the first week of May.  If your application is accepted, we encourage you to seek funding from your institutions for travel expenses.  However, Rutgers will cover the travel expenses not paid for by your institution, and we will also provide food and housing during the conference (though housing will probably involve staying with Rutgers Philosophy grad students).

We look forward to hearing from you!
